Liberty Horsemanship

Our aim is to create confident, curious horses that understand what we are asking and not just tolerate what we are making them do. 

As a Native American husband and a European wife we really dove into cross training. We found a lot of value in studying opposite disciplines and created a method of our own that is a sweet combination of Western Performance Trainer, Clinton Anderson, Olympic Eventer and liberty enthusiast, Tik Maynard and Dutch liberty show woman Yvet Blokesch.

Our lesson program is for those who seek a long term plan. If you’re hoping to become an independent and self sufficient horseman it will take time, patience and love and we are here to guide you. We will dive into the horse psychology, learn how to observe and read your equine partner and how to build a fair, two-way communication street. These fundamental skills will help you find what motivates your and your horse and how to turn your relationship into a playful partnership. 

Level 1

The first level is all about horsemanship on the ground. You learn how to observe, read and communicate with your horse through body language. The student will become self sufficient in catching, grooming, safely walking and roundpenning a horse. 

Level 2 

Diving deeper into building a two-way street for communication we teach you how to move shoulders, ribs and hips around in a playful matter and how to teach your horse to “pick you up” and play ball. With your solid understanding of reading a horse’s comfortability level we will introduce you to (ground) driving and bareback riding in order to develop your feel for the so important seat. Our bareback pad is equipped with two large handles to find confidence and relaxation.
