This is promising to be a good summer! Our mare just had her foal, early July is the due date for our litter of puppies and mid august will mark the arrival of our first fluffy mini calf. The students of our summer ranch program get to see it all up close and learn how to care for the cuddly new-borns.
Animals have an incredibly positive effect on a child’s emotional well being and social development. Dogs and farm animals provide a ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on or they can share in your excitement when things are good.
Our Summer Camp Kids will only work with our personal, well-behaved dogs. These a proven, kid-friendly pets who are eager to work with any size of human!

Our happy hens provide our Ranch Pantry with delicious fresh eggs every day. Kids will learn how to take care of the flock and their produce.

Our goats are an important part of the Ranch’s Dog Training program. We want kids to learn how to take care of little livestock and animal collaborations.

On the daily we will work as a team and clean a stall or two, feed the big horses and brush the small ones. Kids learn all about equine safety, deep run friendships and leadership.

Working in the Dog Training program will give the kids a great feeling of responsibility and accomplishment. We teach them how to read dogs, respond to them and teach them all sorts of tricks.

For exercise and pure joy we will do a daily agility course run with the dogs. All their learned skills are put to the test as they figure out how to communicate with their animal in a fast speed environment.

Our program beats the summer heat and is Monday - Thursday from 8.30AM - 12.30PM. Drop-off and pick up is at the D-Arrow Ranch in Kamas. Make sure to pack water and snacks for your kiddos!
